While not an official eBird Hotspot, Pine Meadow Road and its environs can be excellent for birding in spring and summer.
Birding Pine Meadow Road and Environs
Accessible from the Sebago boat launch area, Pine Meadow Road requires a short walk before reaching the birding area. Don’t let the walk-in deter you — during spring migration and breeding season, this area can be exceptionally productive. Take your time and listen for a variety of forest birds along the way. This is a great trail for spring migrants.
A map is strongly recommended to help stay on route, as there are many trails and woods roads that branch off from the main paths.

The woods roads are generally flat or mildly ascending, but the surface can be very rocky. If completing the loop back to the boat launch parking area, be aware that the return section includes a noticeable downhill rocky grade. While it is not a long or technical descent, it may be challenging for visitors with knee, hip, or mobility concerns.

Be aware that bears do frequent this area-I’ve run into one almost ever time I’ve gone in!
