Keep Kitty Indoors

Cats and Wildlife
It’s estimated that cats kill between 1.3 and 4 billion birds in the United States alone, making cat predation one of the largest human-caused threats to birds.
Cats are also responsible for killing over 6 billion mammals annually in the contiguous U.S. They have been linked to the extinction of over 60 species—including 40 birds, 21 mammals, and 2 reptiles. These extinctions have mostly occurred on islands or in Australia, where there are few or no natural mammalian predators to keep cat populations in check.
Keep Fluffy inside. It’s safer for wildlife, safer for your cat, and safer for you—cats can pick up diseases while roaming outdoors.
NOTE: If you must surrender your cat: Please do so at a no-kill shelter or to a reputable rescue group. Cats are domesticated animals and deserve to be treated as cherished pets.
